Presbyterian Manor - Health Care - House of Hope

Presbyterian Manor is a private pay facility, but there are longtime residents who have exhausted his or her savings and have lived here for at least two years. These seniors cannot afford residency or nursing care on their own and struggle to make ends meet. Moving to another facility is usually not possible financially, physically or emotionally. Many organizations would simply evict the resident and that is why the Good Samaritan Fund is an essential part of our program. The Good Samaritan Fund, which is considered to be one of the greatest blessings at Presbyterian Manor -not only to those who receive life-giving help, but also for you, as a supporter, for providing the basic necessities to someone in need and knowing you have made a real difference in their life! The benevolent assistance provided through this fund gives older adults the help they need to receive life essentials such as nutritious meals, nursing care, and the ability to stay in their Presbyterian Manor home.

Presbyterian Manor is a Independent Living Community in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Adjoining, but separate to the main building is the Perkins-Prothro Health Care Center providing short and long-term nursing care around-the-clock. Both facilities were opened to the public in 1980 and share a 12½ acre campus. Presbyterian Manor has 72 independent living cottages that surround the main building, which has 113 apartments. The Perkins Prothro Health Care has 57 private rooms for those that are ill and need medical attention or unable to care for themselves any longer.

In 2007, a third facility was added to the organization at a nearby location. The Earle W.Crawford House of Hope serves those with Alzheimer's and dementia and is the only dedicated Alzheimer's facility in the region. The campus also accepts residents in two wings for short or long-term care needs without a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia. This facility has 45 rooms for Alzheimer's patients and 30 rooms for short term care. Throughout its history of more than forty years, Presbyterian Manor has stayed true to its original mission and purpose: to provide high quality care for seniors in the North Texas area. This unique community is the result of countless volunteer hours and is governed by an 18-member Board of Directors. Presbyterian Manor is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. The residents at both campuses are eligible to apply for the Good Samaritan Fund.
