What is Your Favorite Thing PETS Clinic Does for Our Community?

How Do Your Donations Help Dogs and Cats in the Texoma Area?

Texas is #2 in the country for yearly euthanasia. These efforts, along with programs like PETS Underdog Express, PETS Pantry, and client fundraising, help keep pets in loving homes. Unfortunately, overpopulation and financial barriers still lead many animals to be surrendered to shelters, often resulting in euthanasia. PETS Clinic receives no state or federal funding, we rely on donations to provide affordable preventative care, assist with large medical bills, and offer financial aid for spay/neuter surgeries.

Why Are Low-Cost Veterinary Services Important?

Financial barriers are the top reason pets don't receive the care they need. Even families with a $50,000 annual income struggle with vet expenses, and those with lower incomes face even tougher challenges. With over 67% of families owning pets, millions of dogs and cats in the U.S. lack basic veterinary care. Our commitment to the "Access to Care" movement aims to bridge this gap, ensuring all pet owners can care for their beloved companions.

Who We Are

PETS Clinic has been making a profound impact since its founding in 2007. Born from the passion and dedication of Leslie Harrelson, who recognized the dire need for accessible spay and neuter services, PETS Clinic has grown from a small operation performing 15 surgeries on its first day to a full-service nonprofit clinic that has touched the lives of countless pets and families. Throughout its history, PETS Clinic has been a trailblazer in animal welfare, implementing innovative programs like the PETS Pantry, which has served tens of thousands of dogs and cats, and the PETS Habitat initiative, which has provided shelter for thousands of animals in need over the years.

Today, PETS Clinic stands as a testament to the power of compassion and community support. With over 95,000 spay and neuter surgeries performed, we have reduced intake of unwanted animals from over 10,000 the year we started to 1,625 last year and euthanasia from over 90% when we started down to 34% last year. Beyond surgical services, PETS Clinic has expanded its reach to include affordable preventative care, emergency treatment, and community outreach programs that ensure pets can remain with their loving families. The impact of this work is felt throughout Wichita Falls and beyond, as evidenced by the thousands of families who have found solace, support, and life-saving care within the clinic's walls. As PETS Clinic looks to the future, our commitment to creating a brighter tomorrow for every companion animal remains unwavering, driven by the belief that every pet deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life.
