Wichita Falls Buddy Walk

A nonprofit organization

$1,285 raised by 15 donors

Did you know it costs, on average, 2.4 million dollars to raise a child with an intellectual disability? Our Texoma Gives fundraiser serves to fund our T21 Scholarships; a scholarship given to local families impacted by Down syndrome to use for things such as medical appointment copays, deductibles, therapy, assistive technology devices, orthotics, childcare and travel fees for appointments, wage reimbursement after a lengthy hospital stay, and much more.

100% of the funds raised through our Texoma Gives campaign go straight back to families right here in our community. In 2023, we gifted over $2,000 in scholarships to 5 local families. We want to double that this year! Please consider helping make this dream a reality by donating to our mission.

The Wichita Falls Buddy Walk was established in 2017 with a passionate group of parents who dreamt of a future where people with Down syndrome are loved, cherished, celebrated and included. What started as just a pipe dream quickly became a reality with the first WFBW in 2018! Since then, the Buddy Walk has poured over $180,000 back into our local disability community.
