Saint Jo Public Library

$50 raised by 1 donor

The Saint Jo Public Library was established in 2007 as a 501(c)3 non-profit to fulfill the need for a community outreach and learning center.  It is supported about 33% by local government, 33% by grants, and the other 34% by faithful individuals and families.  Located on the town square, the Library offers public use computers, free Wi-Fi, copiers, best-sellers, local history, informative non-fiction, DVD's, and eBooks.  Programs currently offered include BARKClub Reading, a partnership with Easy Street Animal Shelter and Rocky Road Refuge promoting early childhood literacy and learning; a Summer Reading Program; free eBooks and AudioBooks; a vast database of online programs and classes as well as a Texas Work Force data base helping job seekers find positions or acquire skills needed to help them find employment.

We have a vision to host Book Clubs, craft groups, young adult leadership classes, add services to assist the aging, and to expand our unique Texas related collection, while maintaining and growing our physical and electronic book collections.

We are working on finding a larger space for a permanent home for our library.

We are hoping to raise $4000 dollars this year with Texoma Gives.  This money will be used for our annual Ebook and AudioBook subscription and to expand our Children's Area with a new table, whiteboard, and rugs.
