Who We Are

The Northwest Texas Council, Boys Scouts of America, was established in 1920. It will celebrate its 105 Year Anniversary next year!

Why should you support the Boy Scouts of America?                                                                                                                                                                                    

Your donation helps to provide essential resources for our scouters. Donations help to provide ammo to earn merit badges/awards and provide funds for scholarships and scout assistance. Last year alone we awarded $1,500 in scholarships, provided 200 books and fishing poles to new scouters, and provided $5,000 in campership/membership assistance. Your dollars make a real difference in the lives of our youth!

Scouting is a unique program that teaches leadership and time held values to youth through weekly meetings of similar age and gender youth, and by offering exciting indoor and outdoor activities. What better way to impact a community than by instilling values like patriotism, community service, and conservationism in those that will be our future leaders? Research studies done by prominent universities have shown how the Scouting experience builds positive character into the lives of young people. Scouts scored higher than non-scouts in cheerfulness, helpfulness, obedience, kindness, hopefulness and trustworthiness.
