Base Camp Lindsey

Our goal is to raise funds for the renovations of the Base Camp Lindsey facility at 1908 6th Street in Wichita Falls, TX.  The building was purchased from the city in January 2020 and has been cleaned out and is now ready to begin renovations.  The Board of Directors for North Texas Veteran’s Relief Fund is grateful to SLA Architects and Baird, Hampton, and Brown Engineering services for their time and efforts getting the plans and drawings ready for the renovations.  With their hard work and your donations, Base Camp Lindsey will be able to begin construction and begin providing services to the homeless Veterans of North Texas.  Our goal this year is to get at least three rooms fully sponsored.  The cost of sponsoring one room is $5000, this covers furniture and supplies for one room such as a bed, bedding, pillows, a recliner or loveseat, desk and built in storage in the closet as well as flooring and basic decorations so it feels like home.  Our current sponsors are:  The Crossroads Gang has sponsored the living room, Howmet Aerospace Foundation sponsored the Kitchen, the 365th Training Squadron is the Game Room Sponsor, Western Supply has sponsored two resident rooms and Wichita Falls Runners Club has sponsored one resident room.  There are 22 more resident rooms, the chapel, and the Library left to sponsor.

Base Camp Lindsey will be a place of refuge and hope for homeless and at-risk veterans in the North Texas community.  It will provide our Veterans with safe shelter and case management services to help them regain their independence.  This is only the beginning of a huge project, but it is a very exciting and significant beginning.   The Board of Directors is confident in the compassion and generosity of this community and their support of our Veterans, we believe this Mission will be accomplished!

Who We Are

We are committed to serving the homeless Veterans of North Texas. We do not believe any veteran should be homeless and have a plan to eliminate Veteran homelessness in our community through the building of a transitional living facility here in Wichita Falls where Veterans will have a safe roof over their heads and access to the programs and resources necessary for them to regain their independence.
