The Camp Fire organization was established in 1910 and Camp Fire Wilbarger County Council became a chartered council in Vernon in 1946.  Our local program has been a strong youth program for 78 years.  Our mission is to build caring, confident youth and future leaders.  Camp Fire connects young people to the outdoors, to others and to themselves.  We strive for our youth to build self-confidence, develop meaningful relationships and learn how to contribute to our community by volunteering their time.  Our council is for kindergarten through twelfth grade and has group meetings with volunteer leaders.  Our local Camp Cheromanche is the location for our annual summer Day Camp.  The members enjoy many outdoor activities and making Camp Fire memories.

We have many Camp Fire Alumni that remember that bond with their Camp Fire groups.  This year we have joined with Texoma Gives, asking for any donation to keep our local council financially strong.  We greatly appreciate your help to keep making those Camp Fire memories.

Our Promise

Young people want to shape the world.

Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are. In Camp Fire, it begins now.

Light the fire within.
